
Martine Aubry said Saturday that it intended to be "the first secretary of the Socialist militants," once the results of the vote placing at the head have been validated Tuesday by the Socialist Party.
"Once our bodies have validated the results of their (militants) vote, meaning Tuesday night as is expected, I mean all very simply that I will be the first secretary of the Socialist Party militants because no activist should miss the party, "said Aubry during a brief speech in the premises of the National Assembly.
"The question is more about who lost or won, we all have lost if we are not able to get together," continued the Mayor of Lille, whose victory by 42 votes to advance only contested by the camp of his rival Ségolène Royal, requesting a new ballot. She called for a "renewal" and a "renaissance" of the party, she said: "We owe it to the militants", referring in particular "teams in the colors of France and across all our sensibilities."
"I appeal again to everyone's responsibility as I did tonight Ségolène Royal by calling upon the results."
"Our party does not belong to anyone, to anyone. It belongs to us all," she insisted. It crosses crucial hours and I would say that those who go through difficult times it is mainly French, therefore doing everything to avoid further damage, "she added.
